StudioCanal, Mercis & Superrod Team On Animated Series ‘Miffy’
StudioCanal has teamed with Mercis and Superrod Animation to develop and produce a new CGI series based on the children’s animation classic Miffy. The series is in development with CANAL+ and will launch on the channel in 2025. Francoise Guyonnet, Executive Managing Director TV Series, StudioCanal made the announcement at Brand Licensing Europe (BLE) in London, alongside Marja Kerkhof, Managing Director, Mercis and Clément Calvet and Jérémie Fajner, co-founders of Superrod Group. International sales will be handled in the Netherlands and Japan by Mercis and by StudioCanal and SUPERIGHTS in the rest of the world. All merchandising and publishing rights regarding the new series shall be handled by Mercis.

Magic Frame Animation And Creation Entertainment Media Set Feature ‘Rebellious’ — AFM
Magic Frame Animation and Creation Entertainment Media today announced the feature Rebellious, which will debut at AFM in November. The studios have attached writers Annalisa LaBianco (The Beverly Hills Chihuahua, Tom and Jerry in New York) and Jeffery Spencer (Secret Magic Control Agency) to the project. Sasha Shapiro (Dirty Grandpa) is the producer of the film. Billed as a “modern fairytale,” the film follows a headstrong princess who is kidnapped by an evil sorcerer, Kezabor. The princess’s clever fiancé must use his wit in an epic quest to find her, while the princess boldly challenges her captors and plots a daring escape. Sefi Carmel, CEO of Creation Entertainment Media, said: “The incredible team behind this film have brought this modern fairytale to life through its dynamic characters, and we are delighted to share it with potential buyers next month at AFM. Inspired by aspects of some of the most popular fairytales, Rebellious has so much to offer including a brave princess and a whole lot of action!”.
