The secrets to Kim Keon Hee’s age-defying looks: South Korean First Lady, 51, looks decades younger thanks to ‘less-is-more make-up’, ‘non-invasive treatments’ and a strict skincare regime, claim cosmetic experts

South Korean First Lady Kim Keon Hee has stepped out in the UK alongside her husband President Yoon Suk Yeol as they are hosted by King Charles and Queen Camilla during a state visit.

But royals fans have shared their shock online after discovering Mrs Kim, a former head of an art event-planning company, is 51 years old – with some saying she appears a decade or more younger.

Speaking to FEMAIL, one cosmetic dermatologist revealed that Mrs Kim’s ‘remarkable age-defying appearance’ could possible be ‘attributed to a combination of various non-invasive cosmetic treatments’. 

Einas Mousa, founder of Perla Dermatology Clinic, said: ‘Procedures like facial fillers and Botox are common for achieving a rejuvenated look without the need for surgery. 

‘These treatments can help smooth fine lines and restore volume, giving a naturally youthful appearance,’ added the expert. It was also suggested the First Lady’s radiant look could be thanks to ‘less-is-more makeup’ and a strict skincare regime.

Einas added: ‘The First Lady’s glowing skin could be a result of a dedicated skincare routine, potentially including medical-grade facials and advanced skincare products.

‘In addition to professional treatments, lifestyle factors like a balanced diet, regular exercise, and proper hydration contribute significantly to maintaining a youthful appearance.’

Meanwhile, Laura Kay, beauty expert and Founder of Laura Kay London suggested the First Lady appeared ‘vibrant and glowing, yet also natural’.

She explained: ‘”Undone beauty” is a growing trend and Kim Keon Hee uses the less is more approach as her makeup is simple, having only slightly defined her eyes and lips. Her hair is also worn in a plain style to not distract from her glowing complexion. 

‘As many experts know, to look natural or ‘undone’ comes with extensive prep and work done behind the scenes to achieve the perfect appearance – some favourite celebrity tricks include permanent makeup and laser frequency treatments.

‘With subtle tweaks, you can literally turn back the clock to look youthful and fresh. The First Lady will have access to the best; it looks like she might have had fillers and Botox as her skin looks slightly taut.

‘Her daily skin routine must be a high priority with expensive medical-grade skincare products part of her beauty secrets. I imagine she invests in advanced skin peels and laser treatments to help repair her skin and help it appear plumper.’

Prince William and Kate, who looked stunning in a red outfit, played a key role by greeting the President and the First Lady at their London hotel this morning.

The Prince and Princess of Wales travelled with Mr Yoon and Mrs Kim to a Horse Guards Parade ceremonial welcome, where the King and Queen were waiting.

Following the event, they travelled to Buckingham Palace to view a special exhibition of items from the Royal Collection relating to South Korea in the Picture Gallery. 

Charles and Camilla took their place standing on the royal pavilion around midday and briefly greeted Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, Foreign Secretary Lord Cameron, Home Secretary James Cleverly and the Defence Chiefs of Staff.

Camilla wore a blue dress and coat by Anna Valentine, hat with loose feathers by Philip Treacy and a sapphire and diamond brooch which belonged to Queen Mary.

Nearby was the Sovereign’s Escort of the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment, the Life Guards and the Blues and Royals, commanded by Major Edward van der Lande. 

Kate wore a striking £3,000 caped red coat by Catherine Walker and a matching hat by Jane Taylor. She also sported a pair of Princess Diana’s sapphire and diamond oval drop earrings, complementing the look with a pair of Gianvito Rossi red shoes.

A guard of honour, formed by F Company Scots Guards, gave a royal salute amid traditional pomp and pageantry – and the King and Mr Yoon inspected the troops.

Members of the Scots Guards were recently deployed to South Korea where they were training troops. Mr Yoon walked past the two ranks of guardsmen inspecting the servicemen before returning to the royal pavilion with the King.

Charles, Camilla, William and Kate and their guests then travelled in a carriage procession down The Mall to Buckingham Palace.

The King and Queen then arrived at the Grand Entrance to Buckingham Palace with President Yoon Suk Yeol and his wife Kim Keon Hee to the sound of the South Korean and British national anthems.

Mr Yoon stepped from the black and gold Irish State Coach first, followed by the King. In the second carriage – the Australian State Coach – Camilla accompanied Mrs Kim.

William and Kate travelled in the Scottish State Coach with Choo Kyung-ho, South Korea’s deputy prime minister and minister of economy and finance. The royal party and their guests then went inside the Palace for a private lunch.
