Tony Danza went through a transformation during the COVID-19 outbreak.
“I make a joke in my show: ‘I don’t want to talk about the pandemic except to say it had a devastating effect on my hair color,’” the 71-year-old actor told Page Six Style of his now-gray locks at the Broadway opening of “Pictures From Home” Thursday night.
“I just let it grow and this is what happened.”
Danza added, “Remember that Clairol commercial: ‘Only your hairdresser knows for sure?’ Now everyone knows for sure!”
However, the “Who’s The Boss” alum recognized, “I think I’m a pretty lucky guy overall on top of the hair, [though] the hair is part of it.”
He’s not the only one who’s had to embrace his salt-and-pepper strands amid the pandemic; Kelly Ripa, Sarah Silverman and Kevin Hart all shared candid social media content about their grays in 2020, while Andie MacDowell decided to keep her silver curls even after lockdown measured lifted.
Danza, who got his big break starring in the ’70s sitcom “Taxi,” is still busy working decades later.
“I’m doing a couple of independent movies and I’m doing two TV shows,” he shared with us.” I’m in ‘Raising Kanan’ — one of the ‘Power Book’ shows — and [they] just picked me up for Season 4, so I didn’t get whacked, so I’m really happy.”
“Something incredible has happened,” the “Good Cop” alum said. “I think I’ve been doing this song-and-dance thing since the mid-’90s, and I’m finally starting to get it, so it really feels good to go out there and know you have something to offer.”
Aside from Danza, other celebs present for the “Pictures From Home” opening included Steve Martin, Martin Short, Meryl Streep, Matthew Broderick and Edie Falco.
