Thousands of Virgin Media customers are struggling to get online this morning.

More than 3,000 people are complaining of an outage with the provider, with issues starting at around 11am, according to complaints by tracker Downdetector.

Some customers are even complaining of a total blackout.

According to the website, 68% are complaining of landline and internet problems, 25% reported a total blackout and 7% have mobile internet issues.

A Virgin Media spokesperson said the provider is aware of a fault affecting broadband services for customers in and around Reading.

He added: "There is no national broadband outage affecting our network.

"We are working as quickly as possible to restore services and apologise to those affected.”

Another added: "My home broadband is down and the service status page won't load (ironically). What can I do to get this fixed as I'm trying to WFH."

Virgin responded to a comment on Twitter addressing the problems.

It said: "We are currently aware of an ongoing issue affecting Reading and surrounding areas and are working on getting this fixed as soon as possible.
