Weddings are a time to celebrate the eternal love of a couple – but one guest got a little bit carried away.

Filled with joy after witnessing the bride and groom tie the knot, Amy Code took to outside the venue to cheer the lovebirds before they were whisked away to the reception.

However, the newlyweds were not only greeted with smiles and confetti.

In a TikTok clip which racked up a huge 18million views, Amy caught the moment the bride was mistakenly showered with sugared almonds.

"Someone thought you were meant to chuck the sugared almonds", the guest explained as she shared a snap of the hardened snack in a sheer drawstring bag.

Amy caught the red-face inducing moment on camera for all to see and, unfortunately for the bride, the thrower had great aim.

The none-the-wiser bride grinned as she held the hand of her husband to the claps and cheers of well-wishers.

Suddenly, a handful of sugared almonds struck the bride's bare back and head which caused the stunner to turn around in confusion.

Hilariously, the aftermath of the confetti muddle up resulted in guests giggling as Amy filmed the stray almonds on the floor.

To no surprise, the wedding attendees were not alone in their laughter.

Left in stitches at the blunder, many people fled to the comments to poke fun at the almond throwing incident – and some people even related to the gaffe.

One person commented: "How they all hit her is the best."

Another user chucked: "I’m howling, imagine the realisation kicking in that you just threw hard food at the bride."

While a third gasped: "If I did this I would think about it every day for the rest of my life."

Someone else admitted: "Nah cos when I was about 8 at my aunties wedding I had a hand full of these and confetti that got launched at them cos I was given both bags together."

Meanwhile, a fifth said: "The look on her face is killing me."
