We’ve found the perfect £29 dupe for Ralph Lauren’s £549 orange satin midi dress

If there’s one item that everyone’s wardrobe should contain, it's the satin slip dress.

It’s universally flattering, versatile, and can be worn through every season, making it one of the hardest working pieces you’ll ever buy, so it’s no wonder that searches for them have risen by 30% in the last year.

Although you can absolutely wear them in autumn and winter – just put them with a polo neck and chunky boots and you’re good to go – there’s nothing quite like donning a silky slip dress in the summer.

The lightweight fabric, the flattering fit, the timeless style; what’s not to love? You can pair it with your favourite sandals and a denim jacket for easy daytime look, or slip into some strappy heels and add a clutch bag for instant nighttime glamour.

Although you might be tempted to opt for a darker, neutral shade like black or navy, summer is the perfect time to branch out and try a bold new colour.

With orange being one of this season’s hottest colours, a bright orange slip dress should definitely be on your summer dress radar, as perfectly demonstrated by Queen Charlotte star India Amarteifio, when she donned a tangerine coloured satin midi for Wimbledon.

For the star-studded tennis tournament, India opted for a Ralph Lauren Sleeveless Satin Gown, £549 here, which she paired with a matching orange cable knit jumper tied around her shoulders.

The dress has since sold out in the vibrant citrus shade and is now only available in a pastel pink hue, but although we can’t get enough of India’s effortlessly chic ensemble, we’re less enamoured with the dress’ price tag, which is why we were ecstatic to discover an almost identical dupe of the dress for less than £30.

Through online sales and clearance website Love the Sales, we unearthed a hidden gem in the form of the Omnes Florence Midi Dress In Burnt Orange, £29 here, which has been reduced from its original price of £55.

The Omnes website describes the satin mini as “the perfect throw-on-and-go dress for looking fabulous in a matter of minutes,” noting its versatility and ability to take you from day to night with a simple accessories change.

Made from 100% recycled satin polyester, the dress is lightweight and comfortable to wear, and cut in a flattering silhouette that skims your body for an effortless look.

Thanks to its popularity, the dress is now sold out in all sizes except a UK14, but don’t worry if you missed out on nabbing your size, because we’ve found a whole host of similar styles that you can shop below.
