Reports that Olivia Wilde and Harry Styles have split marks what appears to be the final chapter in a roller coaster two-year saga that saw the pair weather sensational scandal over their movie joint project Don’t Worry Darling, furious speculation about her alleged move to London – and controversy over her bitter custody battle with ex Jason Sudeikis.

Now, the pair’s two-year relationship appears to have finally fallen prey to the constant speculation and intrigue surrounding it – leaving just one lingering question: What is next for Olivia?

The actress’s life has certainly been flipped upside down over the past 24 months, with her pet project Don’t Worry Darling thrown into disarray amid rumors of on-set feuding and her long-term romance with Sudeikis meeting a sudden and controversial end.

Just one month before their alleged breakup, Olivia, 38, was seen looking at schools for her kids, Otis, eight, and Daisy, six, to attend in London. At the time, sources said she was planning to move herself and her two young children to the UK full-time so she could be closer to the former One Direction member, 28, but now that they’re ‘taking break’ – will her relocation across the pond still happen or will she opt to stay in Los Angeles instead?

Harry and Olivia fell in love on set of the psychological thriller Don’t Worry Darling back in late 2020. Olivia served as the director of the flick, while the 28-year-old singer and actor starred in it alongside Florence Pugh, Gemma Chan, and Chris Pine.

They first confirmed their romance in January 2021, when they were spotted holding hands at Harry’s manager, Jeff Azoff’s wedding. After that, the two soon became Hollywood’s most talked about couple – but their romance was not always picture perfect, and many of the details regarding their love story were quickly picked apart by the public.

Amid the news that Olivia Wilde and Harry Styles have split after two years together – many are left wondering, what’s next for the actress?

One month before their alleged breakup, Olivia, 38, was seen looking at schools for her kids, Otis, eight, and Daisy, six (seen in 2018), to attend in London. At the time, sources said she was planning to move to the UK so she could be closer to Harry, 28

But now that they’re ‘taking break’ – will her relocation across the pond still happen or will she opt to stay in Los Angeles instead? From her work obligations to the results of her custody battle, here’s what we know about Olivia’s upcoming plans

In fact, controversy surrounded the relationship from the start. Soon after they started dating, reports emerged that their coupling was making people on set of Don’t Worry Darling ‘uncomfortable,’ and there was talk of a major feud between Olivia and Florence.

Their alleged problems seemed to trickle into the movie’s premiere at the Venice Film Festival in August, with onlookers noticing visible tension between the two women on the red carpet – and their icy demeanors resulted in a slew of headlines and sparked national interest into the rumored Don’t Worry Darling set drama.

In addition, rumors fiercely swirled that Olivia left Jason – her ex-fiancé and the father of her two kids – for Harry. She has since denied this allegation, however, insisting in an interview that her relationship with Jason had ended months before she started dating the Sign of the Times crooner.

To make matters worse, Olivia and Jason recently became embroiled in a bitter custody battle over where their son and daughter will reside – with Jason wanting them to live in New York and Olivia previously stating that she would prefer for them to stay in Los Angeles until summer 2023, when she planned to relocate the children to England.

Now, as her and Harry’s scandalous romance reportedly comes to an end, FEMAIL has revealed where Olivia has left to turn.

Will she still head over to Britain or will she stay in the States? And what will happen to the house that she was sharing with the British star in Los Angeles? There’s certainly a lot of questions surrounding Olivia’s future… From her work obligations to the results of her custody battle, here’s what we know about Olivia’s upcoming plans amid her and Harry’s rumored split.

Olivia and Jason’s bitter custody battle: He fought to move the kids to New York while she planned to bring them to England with her

Olivia and her ex-fiancé and the father of her two kids, Jason Sudeikis (pictured in 2013), recently became embroiled in a bitter custody battle over where their son and daughter will reside

While the Olivia and Jason seemed to be co-parenting amicably at first – alternating one-week periods of ‘parental access’ – it turned into a bitter dispute in April of this year, when Olivia allegedly told Jason that she wanted to move the children to London next year, where Harry lives.

According to court documents filed by Jason in May, he and Olivia were largely based in New York for most of their relationship.

The pair first started dating in 2011. They welcomed their son, Otis, in 2014, and their daughter, Daisy, in 2016 – and soon after Otis was born, the two purchased a home in Brooklyn together for $6.5 million.

From 2014 until 2019 – when a mold issue made the house uninhabitable – the pair split their time between New York and Los Angeles, due to their busy schedule and various work commitments, but according to the actor, they considered the Brooklyn home their main family residence.

Following the mold incident in 2019, it appeared that the kids were residing full time in California. However, in December 2021, they allegedly moved to London while Jason filmed the Apple TV series Ted Lasso and Olivia spent time with her new beau, Harry.

According to court documents, Olivia and Jason had initially agreed to send their kids back to school in Los Angeles for the 2022 school year, after filming on Ted Lasso wrapped. However, Jason then decided he wanted to move to New York instead.

‘For better or worse, I am a New Yorker,’ he said in a custody suit that he filed back in May.

Jason reportedly wants them to live in New York, and Olivia would prefer for them to stay in Los Angeles until summer 2023, when she planned to relocate the children to England. The former couple are seen with their kids in 2018

The star argued that Olivia’s plans to move the children to LA would offer them ‘only short-term stability’ because of her ‘stated intention’ to relocate to London next year.

‘Olivia said that she intended to relocate with the children to London following the close of school in 2023,’ he said in the suit.

‘Olivia said that if I did not reside full-time in Los Angeles, she would allow me to spend time with Otis and Daisy on weekends and during vacation periods – thus depriving me of my right to parent the children during important periods of their lives.’

Jason, ‘fearful’ that she would ‘take Otis and Daisy’ from him, said he then decided to file the petition. She fired back by asking for a motion to dismiss his lawsuit and filing a petition to ‘determine parental relationship’ in California instead, claiming that the children spent most of their last fours years in LA or in London, and not New York.

‘Recently, Jason decided that he wanted to go to New York for the next year while he is not working, and wanted the children to be with him there during this time off,’ Olivia said in her motion to dismiss his custody petition. ‘When I did not agree, since the children have not lived in New York for several years, Jason filed these papers.’

Jason’s case was ultimately dismissed on August 5. At the time, the judge ruled that ‘New York was not the home state of the subject children’ and that rather, ‘California was the children’s home state.’

The custody battle will now have to be tried in California, so the ‘whole thing will start over’ in court there, a legal expert claimed.

Holly Davis, a family law attorney at Texas-based Kirker Davis LLP with extensive experience in high-net-worth divorce cases, said it is very unlikely that Olivia would be permitted to take the children to London.

Now that she and Harry have split, it’s unclear if she will ditch those plans and stay in LA instead. Olivia is pictured with her kids

As for her residence in LA, it was reported by the New York Post that Olivia (seen on November 16) and Harry had moved into a recently renovated $2.45 million home in Los Feliz together last August, which they were renting for $10,000 a month

‘It is highly unlikely that Olivia can move to the UK due to the principle that family courts hold to, which is to keep parents together generally near their children while they are divorcing,’ she told DailyMail.com.

‘It is possible that at the end of a hearing and after evidence and argument are made, one parent could move. But it is not a unilateral decision that gets made by one parent.

‘Celebrities and influential people have a hard time with this concept, especially when it pertains to their children and family, but it is an important concept in family law cases all across the country.’

Even so, Olivia still seemed determined to move her kids to the UK last month, as she was spotted looking at a school in North London, seemingly scouting a place to enroll her two children.

‘Harry and Olivia are completely committed to each other and want to spend as much time together as possible,’ a source told The Sun at the time.

‘Obviously they both lead very busy lives, with Harry spending huge amounts of time on tour and Olivia leading a successful career in film, as well as frequently flying out to see him.

‘But the kids are always her first priority, so basing them in the UK is a viable option for their future, given she sees that with Harry, who wants to stay in London.

‘She has spoken to Jason about it because his say is important too as the kids’ dad. It sounds like they have agreed London is the best place. Nothing has been signed and sealed yet but they are strongly considering the move.’

In addition, the Don’t Worry Darling director is rumored to be developing a female-centric Marvel movie for Sony, which some believe may be featured around Spider-Woman.

‘That, I can’t say a word about. Yeah, no — I can’t say anything about it,’ the actress responded, when asked about the top-secret Marvel movie earlier this year.

‘I will say that I think the Marvel approach of allowing newer filmmakers to come into the fold and have access to those tools of the Marvel universe is incredibly exciting.

‘I am a big fan of what they’re doing over there, but, yeah, I can’t confirm whether that is what that is. But, that would be cool.’

She was spotted attending his final concert on his US leg in Los Angeles on November 15, alongside her two kids.

A source previously told Page Six that neither of them ‘dumped’ the other person, adding, ‘It’s impossible to have a relationship when he’s in every continent next year and Olivia has her job and her kids.’

They said it was ‘the right thing for both of them’ despite the pop star and the actress’ ‘special bond.’
