Womans genius interview answer promises to win over any employer

A woman has branded herself a 'genius' after she shared the job interview answer that she believes will help anyone "win over a potential employer".

Liz Miller, known online as The Tech Sales Gal, was recently made redundant due to a wave of tech layoffs earlier this year.

But within two weeks, the Boston-based techie had landed 11 interviews with eight companies – which all featured very similar questions.

In one of them, she claims she had had a stroke of "genius" that gave her "the best interview of my life".

In response to the interviewer's prompt "tell me about yourself", Liz decided not to go through each company "one by one" from her CV.

Instead, she asked her interviewer what he'd be "most interested in learning about" her.

She explained in the video, which has gained more than 52,000 likes on TikTok, that she would have usually started with an introduction of herself and where she's from.

"And then I kind of one by one go through each company on my resume," she continued.

"And because I've job hopped a lot, I feel like it opens the door for conversations I don't want to have.

"So I did something new today. And I said, 'I am happy to share anything about myself during this interview.

"'I do want to know though, what you're most interested in learning about me'," reasoning that "it really varies from person to person and company to company".

She then added that she wanted to make sure that she only told them the stuff that matters to them within the 30-minute interview.

The approach appeared to be effective, as the employer said he was especially keen on hearing about her "experience selling tools in the software development space".

She continued: "And then I never talked about the ugly points in my career or was even questioned about them because we were having such a rich conversation about what he wanted to talk about," she added, before declaring herself to be "a f***ing genius."
