Tired of punching the same old mouldy leg of ham? Or are you questioning the ethics of regularly punching actual faces?
If you are, there's a new punchbag for you. The brainboxes at boxing firm Bhout are about to launch a heavyweight punchbag that possesses actual artificial intelligence.
It's billed as 'the first bag with a brain' and uses smart sensors to track your movements and hone your technique.

While the punchbag won't exactly talk back, its machine learning technology is designed to "continuously challenge and motivate you" so that you get exponentially better at punching and kicking inanimate objects.
The BHOUT bag is designed to feel like a real human body, with each layer mimicking the density of body tissues like muscle, bone, and skin.
The outer layer is made of cactus (minus the spikes) while the interior is filled with foam and a water core to minimise the risk of injury.
The bag is also packed full of sensors which calculate how powerful each strike is. This then generates data to help improve your workouts via an app.

You can then use the app to create training routines and even generate strike maps to show you where you hit the bag the most.
Fortunately, that's the extent of the BHOUT bag's artificial intelligence. The punch bag is not able to actually feel pain or show emotion, and instead exists solely for your punching pleasure.
