Amazon has just unleashed a series of freebies to keep families entertained while locked inside their homes in a bid to stop the spread of the novel coronavirus ravaging the UK, mainland Europe and United States. The US company is not the first to do this – in fact, Virgin Media has led the pack so far, rolling out premium Sky channels, children’s channels, calls to UK mobiles and landlines to existing customers for free.
It’s not just Virgin Media, either. A huge number of mobile phone, as well as broadband and TV suppliers have rolled out perks, lifted limits, or made changes to billing due to the unprecedented public health crisis gripping the UK, Europe and United States.
And now Amazon has announced free perks to customers – as well as those without an Amazon account.
Amazon has made a number of Kindle eBooks, audiobooks from Audible, shows on Prime Video, and music free to help those working from home or self-isolating during the ongoing public health crisis. Amazon is also making fitness content on Fire Tablets and Fire TV available free.
