After spending upwards of £849, owners of Apple’s new iPhone 14 models have been plagued by a series of glitches being reported every other day.
The most common complaint against the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max models has been a bug that makes the rear camera’s main lens vibrate uncontrollably when the camera is opened on apps such as Snapchat, TikTok, and Instagram.
Frustrated owners have taken to social media to share the resulting shaky videos.
While the issue does not appear to affect the iPhone’s built-in Camera app, not being able to show off the new phone’s supposedly superior camera quality on major social media platforms is a definite let down.
Apple had claimed that the new phones’ cameras would be a ‘huge leap in low-light performance’.
This will be the second update on Apple’s new smartphones to get it to work as it should.
Last week, Apple warned that owners of the new iPhone 14s might experience issues with connecting to open Wi-Fi networks and later released a software update to the iOS 16 to fix it.

People started receiving their new iPhone 14 models last week and were soon complaining about a range of issues including problems activating FaceTime, repeated copy-and-paste permission requests, volume issues on phone calls initiated via CarPlay and the annoying shaky camera on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and TikTok.
The bug is reportedly the result of malfunctioning optical image stabilization technology, which is designed to take sharp photos even in motion. Except, it’s doing the exact opposite of that when you open third-party apps.
Dear @Snapchat plz fix your camera for iPhone 14 Pro Max. This is what happens when using the front camera. It instantly shakes even when restarting the app. You can actually feel all the cameras working to focus and nothings working. @AppleSupport or @Apple you guys too. pic.twitter.com/BRsyws8pML
Affected users were encouraged to avoid opening social media apps till the issue is fixed as the rattling could damage the headset according to 9to5Mac.
The new iPhone 14 is priced at £849 while the iPhone 14 Pro model can cost upwards of £1,099.
