Fuming workers are apparently unable to get online following a BT broadband outage this morning, Monday July 25.

The network provider is suffering technical problems leaving customers unable to access their online MyBT accounts.

Over 300 affected users had reported problems by 9.15 this morning, according to DownDetector.

One said on Twitter: ‘Is there issues with the Web and app as I am not able to log into either and need to check my bill. Thanks.’

Another user posted on DownDetector asking: ‘Is anybody else having intermittent drop out since last Wednesday when BT had problems with their email log in.’

BT hasn’t acknowledged any issues but provides a service status website where you can see if there’s a problem in your area.

The company’s social media staff are also responding to affected customers on Twitter.

DM the full address and account holders name and I’ll get you help. ^Kevin

Hi, sorry to see this. There are no issues that I am aware of at the moment. Pop your account details over in a DM for me please and I will see if there is an issue for you. ^Catherine https://t.co/hBbj6tVEyH

@bt_uk Your authentication services appear to be down. This prevents anyone logging into MyBT and probably other stuff too. pic.twitter.com/avMCojy1qk

Last month, BT workers voted overwhelmingly to strike following disagreements over pay.

It will be the first time they’ve done so in 35 years, following a ballot of 40,000 members after pay rise negotiations collapsed in April.

It comes as staff in industries across the country demand better pay to combat the spiralling cost of living crisis.

The failure to help workers cope with soaring inflation was one of the reasons given for railway strikes which have cripped large portions of the UK’s network.
