New dating app backed by OnlyFans boss helps gym lovers find sweaty connection

Finding love can be challenging, especially if the person we choose to date hates our passions and interests.

According to a 2017 study, Brits with a love for the gym revealed that they struggle to find love as they often spend their time pursuing their passion for fitness.

FITFCK – pronounced "Fit-eff-see-kay" – could be the perfect dating app for gym-lovers, launched with a mission to help fitness fans find love and companionship in fellow gym enthusiasts.

The app has been backed by OnlyFans founder Tim Stokely who invested an undisclosed amount in it. Here's everything you need to know about the FITFCK app.

What is the FITFCK app?

FITFCK is a fitness social app created for gym lovers, which aims to bring regular gym goers, professional bodybuilders and fitness enthusiasts together under an online fitness community.

Based in the UK, the app has brought the elements of online dating, finding a training partner and networking into one easy-to-use platform.

  • Eight words you should never use at work – from 'guys' to 'love'

It was founded by Jamie Wykes-Hobday, who was inspired by his own dating experiences to create a community where fitness lovers can find love and friendship.

The body builder and entrepreneur, who was dumped by his own girlfriend just weeks before participating in a bodybuilding competition, said: "I realised the true hardship of competing and the detrimental impact it can have on your social life."

He explained that people who pursue fitness either professionally or as a passion can't always go out to bars or clubs due to their diet or sleep regime, adding: "How on earth do you meet anyone? Throughout the duration of the 16 weeks preparation for my show, I didn’t meet anyone and to be frank, any thought of a relationship just simply wasn’t achievable."

He added that his experience of not being able to date or even find friends to train on the same level as him got him thinking "there has got to be a way for people to meet likeminded partners to date and train with".

How to use the FITFCK app

FITFCK – pronounced Fit F.C.K and short for Fitness Connection Kingdom – allows users to filter potential dating or training partners by various fields, including fitness level, gender, sexuality, location and age.

There is also a range of fitness levels to choose from, going from 'Regular Gym Goer' to 'Athlete', 'Personal Trainer', 'Professional Fitness Model' and 'Body Builder'.

This ensures that app users find dates, training partners or friends with who they are most compatible. The app also provides opportunities for social or training events.

Founder Jamie said: "We want to create a genuine fitness community. In order to achieve this, we want to make sure we are catering for everyone’s needs that use the app. So, whether you want to find a date, a workout partner or a likeminded friend, we are dedicated to growing our database with quality potential matches."

FITFCK is free to download on the app store. You can find out more about the app on its official website.
