Own a Kindle? Read one million books for FREE from Amazon

Amazon is giving away three months of its Kindle Unlimited subscription. Cancel anytime and you’ll be charged nothing, but you’ll be able to get access to millions of Kindle eBooks, popular magazines, and thousands of audiobooks on your Kindle, iPad, iPhone or Android device

Amazon is offering you the chance to read one million Kindle ebooks on your iPhone, iPad, Android phone or tablet, or Kindle eReader for free. You’ll be able to download and read hundreds of thousands of digital books, magazines, and audiobooks over the next three months at no cost – saving you £23.97 on the usual subscription fee.

Best of all, you can cancel anytime during the free trial and pay nothing to the online shopping firm.

The blockbuster giveaway is part of Amazon’s ongoing Prime Big Deal Days sale, which runs until 11.59pm tonight (October 11, 2023) and is exclusive for Prime members. Yes, unfortunately, you’ll need to be a member of the subscription service to unlock the 3 months free offer for Kindle Unlimited.

If you’re not an Amazon Prime member, or in the middle of a 30-day free trial, you’ll need to settle for 30-days of free reading via Kindle Unlimited (still far from shabby for a freebie)

  • Get access to millions of Kindle books, magazines, and audiobooks for £0

Kindle Unlimited is a Netflix-like subscription for books and magazines, including big brands like Cosmopolitan, Grazia, BBC Good Food Magazine, OK!, and Autocar, to name just a few. Amazon also bundles some of the best-selling book series, including every entry in the Harry Potter saga, as well as page-turners from Shari Low, Nicola Sanders, Rob Burrow, Lucy Score, and Hugh Howey.

And that’s not all. If you want to give your eyes a rest, Kindle Unlimited also includes a slew of audiobooks to stream on your iPhone or Android device. Select Kindle models, like the Kindle Paperwhite and Kindle Oasis support these audio files too.

So, what’s the catch?

Well, there is no gotcha moment in this deal, but as you’d expect, there are a few terms and conditions. First of all, this £0 offer is only available for Prime customers – so if you’re not a paid-for member or are in the midst of a free trial, you won’t be eligible.

If you’ve taken up a free trial for Kindle Unlimited within the last 36 months, you might not be eligible either. You’ll need to check whether your account is eligible on this page.

Want access to the Prime Day sale? Amazon only allows shoppers with a Prime membership to buy its best deals in the sale. Thankfully, you can sign-up for a 30-day free trial and unlock access to thousands of exclusive deals and next-day delivery nationwide – but hurry, the Prime Day sale ends on October 11th

When you sign-up, keep in mind that Amazon will auto-renew your subscription by default. If you don’t want to pay anything for the chance to read Kindle books and magazine, or listen to audiobooks via Kindle Unlimited, you’ll need to cancel during the 30-day free trial.

If you don’t cancel, your subscription will continue and you’ll be charged £7.99 per month to the saved payment details in your Amazon account

As mentioned above, you won’t need a dedicated Kindle eReader to enjoy all the perks of Kindle Unlimited. As with all Kindle eBooks, you can access everything bundled with your Kindle Unlimited subscription on a variety of devices via the official Kindle app.

This can be downloaded for free on Android and iOS for tablets and smartphones.
