Samsung might have just launched its new Galaxy S23 flagship series but now the Korean firm is back with more devices that are a little more wallet-friendly. The new Galaxy A34 5G and A54 5G start from as little as £349 which is less than half the price of the premium £899 Galaxy S23. And don’t think that low cost means they get bargain basement features as the spec sheets look pretty impressive.
Those buying the cheaper A34 5G (£349) will be treated to a huge 6.6-inch AMOLED display that even features a speedy 120Hz refresh for silky smooth scrolling and stutter-free gameplay.
This device also packs a triple camera which can shoot wide-angle images and pin-sharp close-ups thanks to its Ultra Wide and Macro lenses. Those who love shooting video are also being promised smooth footage thanks to clever in-built image stabilisation.
Tucked under the hood is a fast MediaTek processor and there’s a massive 5,000mAh battery which Samsung is promising will keep going for a whole two days on a single charge. When things do run low, the A34 5G is fully compatible with fast charging which will power up the battery in a matter of minutes.
This device is also waterproof and its in-built storage can be boosted to a whopping 1TB via a microSD card – that’s something not available on the more premium S23 range.
For those wanting something with a little more oomph, Samsung is also launching a new A54 5G model.
This £449 device features a faster Samsung 5nm Exynos processor, more pixel-packed triple-lens camera and it includes access to Wi-Fi 6 for better downloads.
Just like the A34, owners will also get that huge fast-charging battery, IP67 weatherproof design, upgradeable storage and an under-screen fingerprint scanner which unlocks the display in a flash. As the names suggest, both can also access fast 5G data on the move and they are covered in Gorilla Glass 5 for added protection.
They will arrive in stores in the coming weeks in a number of fruity colours including purple and green.
