Thousands of TikTok users are complaining that they're unable to use the popular app, as an apparent outage sweeps the globe.

According to DownDetector.co.uk, more than 12,000 reports have been made about TikTok being down.

DownDetector users have said the app 'kicks them out' as soon as they open it. One even wrote: "It keeps crashing I think I'm having TikTok withdrawal symptoms."

Meanwhile, users in other countries (where it is still night time) have complained that they 'have to go to bed' now instead of watching TikToks.

TikTok has not confirmed the outage or made a public statement about it yet, but #tiktokdown has begun trending on Twitter as users share their hurt and outrage at the app's malfunctioning.

One Twitter user wrote: "The way I felt like I just lost a friend after TikTok went down."

Another said: "Honestly TikTok being down is worse than losing the Queen."

TikTok has been approached for comment and this article will be updated as soon as we receive a response.
