Twitter staff ‘begging Elon Musk for toilet paper’ after mogul sacks cleaners

Twitter staff are reportedly begging Elon Musk for some loo roll after he sacked the staff responsible for keeping Twitter HQ toilets clean.

Staff at Twitter's New York offices claim that there is no toilet paper anywhere in the building, and that clogged toilets are beginning to stink the place up.

The stench at Twitter's offices has reportedly grown worse this week, after Musk decided not to renegotiate job contracts for the key workers who kept the toilets clean.

With Musk mandating staff to work in the office five days a week, the sh*tuation is now growing desperate.

Two anonymous sources linked to Twitter told Insider that the stench from uncleaned bathrooms and blocked toilets is beginning to filter into the rest of the office.

Staff have also sent requests on Slack and via email for someone to fix the situation and restock the office with toilet paper, but as of Thursday, no staff members have received a response and Twitter's PR department has not commented on the situation.

A worker at the New York office told Insider that the lack of toilet paper and other essentials is "just bad" and damaging already low morale at the social media company.

Another staff member said workers will likely be forced to bring their own toilet paper in from home.

The issues with maintenance and office supplies are a result of Musk's strict cost-cutting exercises, which has seen him not only sack much of Twitter's workforce, but cut back on benefits and office perks.

After mandating office working, Musk has stopped offering staff free food and a series of health benefits, instead turning office space in San Francisco into bedrooms and showers to save on hotel costs.
