It could soon be possible to conceal your 'online' status on WhatsApp, thanks to a new upcoming feature.
According to WhatsApp experts at WABetaInfo, the popular messaging app is currently developing a tool that will stop your contacts seeing whether you're online.
Currently, the app only allows you to hide your 'Last Seen' status. But the WhatsApp beta programme is set to enhance your privacy with the optional feature.

The rumoured feature is set to join a raft of other new privacy-enhancing WhatsApp options, such as the recent addition of 'disappearing messages' which make any texts you send vanish after a selected period of time.
WABetaInfo said: "There may be different reasons why people want to use WhatsApp in stealth mode: for example, some users want to use WhatsApp without being disturbed by other people, or they feel stalked by someone."
They added: "Unfortunately, this feature is under development so we do not know the details about when it will be released to the public."
The WhatsApp beta programme is a limited, experimental version of the app which Android and iPhone users can sign up to.

It's where the app's developers test new potential features before releasing them to the wider public.
Not all of the features in the WhatsApp beta make it to the app's general user base, but still give beta members a chance to try out nifty new tricks and tools before everybody else.
To sign up to the beta programme, follow these steps:
- Open WhatsApp and tap the three dots, then head to 'More Options'
- Tap Linked Devices
- Hit 'Multi-device beta'
- Tap 'Join beta'
