Your old Super Mario games could be worth hundreds of pounds following new movie

If you're a fan of Super Mario, you're in luck: the value of classic Mario games is shooting up, and could be worth hundreds of pounds.

According to new research by GamesErrors.com, old-school Mario games are worth a bundle at the popular secondhand shop CeX.

The most valuable title, the Nintendo 64 classic Paper Mario, could be worth as much as £247 in mint condition due to its rarity.

Meanwhile, if you've got the N64 classic Mario Party 3, you might be able to flog it for £162.

It doesn't have to be in pristine condition either, as even an unboxed version of the game can be worth £84.

If you're old enough to remember the Super NES, you might even have a copy of Mario's Time Machine which is worth £110.

One of the bestselling N64 games of all time, Super Mario 64, is even worth £78 in good nick. This title sold millions of copies and is the one most likely to be stored away in people's attics, so make sure you have a rummage around for it.

A spokesperson for GamesErrors.com said: "Many of the games on this list have stood the test of time, and based on the valuations shown here there is still a good market for them. It will be interesting to watch how valuations change with the release of the new Super Mario Bros movie.

"Additionally, the list shows how much the Mario universe has expanded, spanning genres and several generations of consoles, with the demand for retro titles in the series remaining high."
