24 HOURS in A&E viewers were left complaining about very "traumatic" scenes on the Channel 4 show.

The Channel 4 factual documentary features many harrowing moments.



But the most recent episode horrified viewers, after a 16-year-old boy James severed a finger climbing.

The young lad suffered an accident after playing football with friends.

James recalled: "I went to 5-A-Side football with mates, one of my mates kicked the football over the fence."

"It had spikes at the top, but I climbed up over and I got my hand on the spikes and I fell backwards – looked at my finger and I'm like 'that's bad'."

The nurse examined the injury and told him: "It's taken a chunk of the flesh."

Luckily James could still feel had feeling in the finger which was a good sign that there was no extensive nerve damage.

His father Chris told viewers: "Mine and James relationship, I'd say we're best mates.

"We play games with each other, we shout at each other, typical normal friendship.

"I want to watch TV shows with my son, I want to watch movies with my son, so it's very important that we can have these activities that we can do together."

James opened up about his ambitions, saying: "When I was younger I wanted to be a footballer, author or singer, until I realised I couldn't write stories, couldn't play football and couldn't sing.

"So they all just went off the table very quickly, I went into an electrical course."

The teenager opened up about the love he feels for his dad Chris.

"There is nothing I would change about my dad, I guess at times he's questioned himself and I don't get why.

"He thought I'd be better off without him, he convinced himself that that was the case and then when I was nine he attempted suicide."

Viewers were left heartbroken at the emotional scenes, while other felt queasy at the horror injury.

One wrote: "Why do you always make it seem like they’ve died at the end!!! Gives me a heart attack!"

A second posted: "24 hours in A&E really doesn’t need to play with my emotions like that. Just tell me the people are fine ok!"

"God 24 hours in A&E is like an episode of X Factor with all the sob stories," a third commented.

Another added: "24 hours in A&E, what is this program, a teenager slit his finger open on a fence and we're hearing how his dad attempt suicide years earlier..?
