Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) has desperately tried to hold things together in Coronation Street after finding out about Sarah Platt’s (Tina O’Brien) affair, but the beloved character is set to fall apart after learning that Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths) is the father of his wife’s baby after all.
Adam has spent the past few weeks under the impression that the ordeal with Damon was finally over after Sarah seemingly confirmed that he’s the dad of her child. Sadly, that isn’t the case, as Sarah has been allowing Adam to believe that after he misunderstood her during a conversation.
In a recent episode of the ITV soap, Adam was suspicious when the sonographer mentioned that Sarah should have a genetic diseases test. Even though Gail (Helen Worth) and Adam said they didn’t have anything to worry about, Sarah was awash with concern, knowing the results could indicate her baby inheriting a disease from Damon’s side of the family.

Recognising his wife’s worry, Adam decided to contact the DNA clinic and ask for official confirmation and in the flat, he opened the letter, leaving Sarah anxiously waiting.
While the letter said that Adam’s the dad, Sarah learnt the truth moments later when Stephen (Todd Boyce) admitted that he forged the letter and shredded the original.
As a new weeks begins, Sarah is on edge after finding more missed calls from Damon on her phone. She’s also freaked by Adam’s cagey behaviour, but Stephen tells her not to worry, as Adam’s planning a surprise gender reveal.
With the Barlows and Platts in the bistro for the party, Sarah opens her balloon box to reveal the gender of the baby.
It appears that is the moment when things start to go wrong for her as later in the week, Sarah tries to start a conversation with Adam, who ends up railing at her for all the lies.
She is then hit with stomach pain and rushes to hospital, but will Adam be there to support her, given the scenes that occur at the baby shower?
Will things ever be the same for the couple?
