How old is Adrian Dunbar?
Adrian Dunbar is known and loved for playing Ted Hastings in Line of Duty and he is now playing a very different detective.
His troubled character in Ridley is dealing with the loss of his wife and daughter when he is reunited with a former colleague.
Although he is retired as an investigator, his depth of knowledge is still valued in the field.
His age contributes to his wealth of experience and viewers are keen to find out about Adrian’s age in real life.
The actor was born on August 1, 1958, in Enniskillen, Northern Ireland.
This makes the star 64 years old and he is still going strong in his career.
He opened up about going back to ‘better times’, telling The Guardian the single thing that would improve his quality of life.
The star joked: “If I was 40 again,” but he prides himself on still being “tenacious, energetic and empathetic”.
He was born and brought up in County Fermanagh as the eldest of seven siblings.
After attending St Joseph’s College he went to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London.
Away from his acting career, he has a daughter and stepson from his marriage in 1986 to Australian actress Anna Nygh.
The star has put down roots in North London and now lives in Crouch End.
One of his first acting roles was in the 1980 series The Long March and his first film role was in Sky Bandits.
He came into the spotlight in 2012 when he joined the cast of Line of Duty as Ted Hastings.
The superintendent quickly became a fan-favourite character and viewers were heartbroken when the series ended.

They were excited to see him embrace a different detective role in the northern noir series, Ridley.
Adrian opened up about how he embraced the musical side of his character, as the star is a talented musician off-screen.
He shared: “When I was quite young, as a teenager, I had a three-piece country band.
“Then for a while, I played as an Elvis Presley impersonator.
“Yes, going around places doing that, and playing bass guitar. Beyond that, about 10 or 15 years ago, I put another band together doing country and jazz.
“So always through my life, I’ve been interested in music and interested in all types of music – folk music, jazz, rock music – so I’m music mad really.
“So when I came across Richard Hawley, I really thought, ‘This man’s music suits this character really well’.
“It’s very masculine. It’s very yearning for something. Just the character, I think.
“So yes, I’ve always had a relationship with music. I’ve always been involved in it, and I hope I always will.”
Ridley returns to ITV on Sunday at 8pm.
