After arriving on our screens in All Creatures Great and Small back in 2020, it’s safe to say that actress Anna Madeley has delighted fans week after week for her portrayal of Mrs Hall in the iconic veterinary drama, that charts the adventures of vet James Herriot.
But while rural life in 1940s Britain seems to suit the talented star, away from our screens Anna lives a far different and infinitely more glamorous life – which has even seen her star in Marvel superhero series Secret Invasion!
Here, we take a closer look at the actress’ life off screen, including a look at where you may have seen her before.
Early life
Born in London on 1 October 1976, Anna Madeley grew up in the nation’s capital where she first discovered a flair for acting at a very young age.
For much of her compulsory education Anna attended the North London Collegiate school, a private day school for girls, and it was while studying here that a speech teacher saw her potential for performance and signed her up for auditions when she was just 7 years old!
Having proven to be a big hit with casting directors, Anna’s career officially launched, with the young star formally training in drama at the world renowned Central School of Speech in Drama after leaving school.
Acting career
Anna’s first mainstream role came in 1985, when she starred in the film Claudia, playing a little girl., but from there her career soon began to gain traction with a huge number of popular works seeing her step into the limelight over the next twenty years.
Among some of her most notable works are Cold Feet, Lewis, The Old Curiosity Shop, Waking the Dead, Law & Order – UK, Mr.Selfirdge, Utopia, The Crown and even Patrick Melrose alongside Benedict Cumberbatch.
Anna even stepped into the Marvel superhero scene as Pamela Lawton in the Disney+ series Secret Invasion, which her saw her star alongside Hollywood heavyweights such as Samuel L Jackson, Olivia Colman, Emilia Clarke and Don Cheadle.
Alongside her TV roles, Anna has also appeared in a number of feature films over the years, including in the 2018 Disney flick: The Nutcracker and the Four Realms alongside Keira Knightley and in 2008’s film adaptation of Brideshead Revisited.
Famous partner
As well as being an in demand actress, Anna is also a devoted partner to her boyfriend Geoffrey Streatfeild, a fellow actor.
Much like Anna, Geoffrey has often been a highly sought after star on both stage and screen, with the actor counting The Other Boleyn Girl and Kinky Boots among two of his most memorable screen roles.
He is best known however, for playing Calum Reed in Spooks, and Fergus Williams MP, alongside Peter Capaldi in satirical drama The Thick of It.
