AMANDA Abbington has spoken out after her dramatic departure from Strictly Come Dancing for the first time.
The Sherlock actress, 49, was partnered with Giovanni Pernice on the ballroom show but the pair clashed early on.
She has now hinted at feeling "pushed over the edge" as she urged people to "be kind" in her first interview since her shock exit.
Speaking on Boogaloo Radio, Amanda said: "My thing at the moment is 'be kind', it's always been 'be kind'.
"It's, 'You don't know what someone else is going through, you have no idea what's going on in their life so before you say anything hateful and cruel just check yourself'."
She continued: "It takes so much more energy to be hateful, to be horrible, where you could just not say anything or say something positive.

"We're living in a world where the laptop and the phone and social media allows you to say whatever you want without any recrimination, and you have no idea what that comment could do to someone – it could push someone over the edge to do something and God knows we have to look after each other."
The star shared a statement last week confirming she had quit Strictly and citing her "deepest regret" and "personal reasons" at leaving the BBC competition.
She added that she "did not come to this decision easily or lightly… I'm so sad I am unable to go any further".
Strictly's Giovanni failed to comment after Amanda refused to mention him or thank him in her statement.

"So unbelievably beautiful but also incredibly brave. I’m so proud to be your man xx."
