BBC Breakfast fans are calling for a major shake-up to the usual format as presenter Nina Warhurst begs for change.

This week, viewers at home saw Nina take up Sally Nugent’s usual spot on the red sofa, while her co-star Jon Kay headed out on location towards the start of the week.

On Wednesday (July 20), Jon and Nina reunited in the studio, with weather presenter Carol Kirkwood also in place to give the latest forecast updates.

Plenty of fans have enjoyed their partnership so much that they want Nina to be made a permanent presenter alongside the likes of Jon, Sally and Naga Munchetty.

Typically, Nina acts as a stand-in host, along with presenting various reports for the programme.

But fans are loving her partnership with Jon so much that they want to see more of it, and flocked to social media in their droves to call for a shake-up.

One fan penned: “Love you two together on Breakfast. You are smashing it!”

Another begged: “Great to see you both the last few days. Good working combination. Hope you work together more often!”

“Jon and Nina are the dream team!” a third fan echoed, as another posted: “It’s a lot better with Nina on!”

Another fan posted: “@BBCBreakfast good to see you’ve got the dream team on today while Sally is off. Keep Jon and Nina permanently!”

While someone else said: “Nina Warhurst and Jon Kay are THE best presenters on @BBCBreakfast. So natural and pleasant. Love them!”

Meanwhile, Nina celebrated her spot on the sofa with a sweet selfie posted to her Instagram account, showing her glowing in a green floral dress while Jon leaned in for a grin at the camera in a matching green tie.

And the caption saw her beg for “change”.

After the heatwave earlier this week, Nina penned: “We made it. Without melting!

“A few days we will not forget @bbcbreakfast – I’m sure you won’t either. Let’s hope for change,” she finished up, adding a globe emoji and a fire emoji to call for an end to global warming.

BBC Breakfast airs daily from 6am on BBC One.
