Viewers of BBC Breakfast were left appalled after the morning show 's host was seen with a visible runny nose, and did not stop to wipe it.
Reporting on this week's violent riots in Dublin, a BBC Breakfast reporter appeared to be powering through a nasty moment, to the shock of the programme's viewers. The public took to X, formerly Twitter, to share their thoughts on the bunged-up host who had "snot pouring from his nose".
One user pointed out the distracting nature of the display from the heavy news topic, writing : "That reporter from Dublin seriously needs a tissue or a longer tongue. That actually made me heave. Why did no-one tell him he had snot pouring out of his nose? #DublinRiot #ireland.

A sympathetic user added, "poor guy.. runny nose as reporting about Northern Ireland riots..!! Had to lick it up with his tongue" whilst another agreed, "@BBCBreakfast Pass that reporter a tissue please!!!"
Unbeknownst to the social media storm, the man continued discussing the civil disorder which led to the stabbings of multiple people, including a five-year-old. Irish police said they went on to deploy more than 400 members of the An Garda Síochána and over 250 members of the Public Order Gardaí to stop the riots.
BBC Breakfast is no stranger to shocking viewers, having recently alarmed audiences with an on-air evacuation. Presenters Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt recently disappeared during the morning news show.
The pair were in the middle of reporting the 20 year anniversary of Concorde's final flight, in Bristol, when the segment came to an abrupt ending. The Concorde story was replaced by a BBC News segment on the conflict between Israel and Palestine, switching channels.
The pair of presenters soon returned to the red sofa, and as their broadcast continued, Naga assured viewers all was well.
The 48-year-old explained, "You're returning to BBC Breakfast. Apologies, we had an evacuation in the building, but we are back now with you to keep you up to date with the latest in the news." The on-screen graphics continued to incorrectly display material from the BBC World News Feed for some time.
