BBC Breakfast’s Naga Munchetty reveals surprising truth behind sweaty gym selfies | The Sun

BBC Breakfast's Naga Munchetty has revealed the truth behind her sweaty workout selfies.

The presenter, 47, is a staple on the famous red sofa alongside Charlie Stayt.

Naga receives a lot of attention from fans on social after she regularly shares make-up free selfies of her while at the gym.

But the star has now addressed the reason as to why she posts these snaps.

The BBC Breakfast host highlighted that it's "important" that young people know that her glamorous appearance on TV is not what she looks like in real life.

Speaking about the reasoning behind her gym selfies, Naga shared: "I think it’s really important that young people know that all of us on telly don’t look like that in real life."

The star also revealed that she doesn't like "the amount of makeup " she has to wear on the show.

She added that at the end of her shift, she goes home and the first thing she does is take off her makeup.

“I hate make-up, especially the amount we wear on telly… then I head home and plan my day, see if there’s anything I need to read," she admitted.

This comes after Naga also hit back at BBC viewers who often criticise her outfit choices on the show.

She revealed that she buys her own clothes to present the show and this leads viewers to comment on what she wears.

The star also shared how she often gets comments on her hair – as she is the only woman with short hair on the show.

When asked if she gets any comments about her appearance on social media, Naga revealed: I get more comments than Charlie but I think also that is because men just wear suits, so there isn't really too much to object to.

She continued: "whereas I don't wear suits and buy my own clothes."

Naga added: "So inevitably people think they can comment on what I wear."

“Newscasters used to be seen as distant figures, people who sit down and tell you the news, but now it’s about being relatable," she concluded.

BBC Breakfast airs daily from 6am on BBC One and iPlayer.
