BBC Breakfast turned awkward during the latest instalment as host Naga Munchetty said "It's getting ridiculous" now live on air.

The 48-year-old presenter was back on the famous red sofa on Friday (August 11) morning alongside co-star Charlie Stayt.

They woke up the nation with the latest headlines and Mike Bushell was on hand to discuss news from the sporting world.

After showing a clip of a ball breaking a light at a stadium, keen golfer Naga asked: "Can we see it again?"

Mike replied: "I don't have the technical wizardry to do that" before adding: "I bet you've taken somebody's lights out before with a golf shot, have you?"

A visibily taken aback Naga said: "No, what ever made you think I'd do that?"

"In the early days," Mike continued.

Naga hit back: "No, I think I've hit many a goose, not killed a goose.

The sports presented asked his co-star "Was the goose ok?"

"Yes, I've hit a few geese a few times. It happens.," Naga responded.

Mark added: "You need to warn them before you take a shot in future.

"You need to shout 'goose' don't you to get them to move out of the way.

Moving on the conversation, Naga told her co-star: "This is getting ridiculous, this is becoming ridiculous. Mike, thank you very much."

It comes after Naga made a cheeky dig at weather presenter Carol Kirkwood during Thursday's (August 10) episode.

Following a segment on the new 50 pence coin marking the Coronation of King Charles, presenter Roger Johnson pointed out: "Perhaps the King doesn't carry cash like his mum."

    "Like the Queen," Naga added.

Roger continued: "And Like Carol, who revealed that like the late Her Majesty The Queen, you also never carry cash."

Weather presenter Carol Kirkwood responded: "No, never. I used to but now, since the pandemic, I just don't. It's easier with a card."

"Queen of the weather see," Roger said.

Naga joked: "Do you know why she doesn't really carry cash?"

"So she doesn't have to buy you a coffee," Roger teased.

Naga revealed: "Yeah so she doesn't have to pick it up" before she mimicked: 'I've got no money, i've got no cash'."

However, Carol shut down the claims and playfully hit back: "Ah Naga you are terrible especially as yesterday I did buy you a coffee but I did that with a card."
