News anchors at the BBC have changed into black clothing following the news of Queen Elizabeth II's health.

The news of the Queen's health concerns was confirmed by Buckingham Palace on Thursday, September 8, as royal doctors said they were keeping her under medical supervision.

As news channels across the UK shared updates on Her Majesty, the team at BBC have now changed into black clothes.

BBC One has also suspended all regular programming until 6pm and the BBC website has scrapped its usual red theme and the site is filled with black banners.

Viewers quickly noticed the change in the outfits for the presenters as they took to Twitter to share what they had noticed on-screen.

One person said: "BBC presenters in black."

Another wrote: "Apparently BBC have pulled their programming until at least 6pm and have changed into black…"

A third said: "Everyone's wearing black on the BBC."
