Sex Education stars Emma Mackey and Aimee Lou Wood sent fans wild with their friendship goals at the 2023 EE BAFTA Film Awards on Sunday 19 February.
During the star-studded ceremony, Emma, 27, won the EE Rising Star Award after being nominated alongside Sheila Atim, Daryl McCormack, Naomi Ackie and Aimee, 29.
Upon winning the award, a stunned Emma made her way to the stage to accept the gong to which Aimee in the audience mouthed "love you" to her Sex Education co-star.
While during her acceptance speech, Emma gave a shout out to her friend to which the camera panned on a tearful and emotional Aimee, who couldn't contain her pride for her pal winning.
The heartwarming moment didn't go unnoticed by fans at home as they rushed to Twitter to praise the duo for the sweet moment and friendship goals.
One person said: "Aw Aimee crying watching Emma give her speech #BAFTAs."
A different account put: "Omg Emma going over to Aimee to say love you #BAFTAs" with crying emojis.
Another follower wrote: "AIMEE IS SO HAPPY FOR EMMA IM SO HAPPY OH MY GOD GUYS IM IN TEARS #BAFTAS."
A different viewer said: "Emma and Aimee Lou are adorable #BAFTAs."
While another show watcher added: "Aimee Lou Wood cheering for Emma Mackey has just reminded me of the bus scene in Sex Education and my heart #BAFTAs."
Emma and Aimee soared to fame in the hit Netflix series, Sex Education, where they play characters Maeve Wiley and Aimee Gibbs.
Since the show, the two stars; careers have gone from strength-to-strength with Emma playing Emily Brontë in 2022 film Emily and Aimee starring alongside Bill Nighy in Living.
It comes as Alison Hammond and Richard E Grant hosted the 2023 EE BAFTA Film Awards on Sunday 19 February.
Celebrated actor Richard, 65, hosted the ceremony on the night while This Morning royalty Alison, 48, presented the brand new BAFTA Studio.
EE BAFTA Film Awards was broadcasted on Sunday 19 February at 7:00pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
