Beyond Paradise star Sally Bretton teases heartwarming Christmas special

Beyond Paradise and Death in Paradise cast united in crossover

Beyond Paradise star Sally Brenton, who plays Martha Lloyd on the mystery show, has detailed her excitement for the “heartwarming” Christmas special episode. Leading stars Kris Marshall, Sally, Zahra Ahmadi and Dylan Llewellyn will be returning, along with an array of guests for the festive instalment.

When asked about the upcoming BBC episode, Sally explained: “It is so lovely. There is music, Christmas markets and a heartwarming story at the centre of it.”

As she detailed filming the episode in the middle of the year, she stated: “We didn’t have much of a summer until we started filming the Christmas special. The moment we got our Christmas jumpers and woolly hats on, the sun came out.

“As it was so light in the summer, we had to film in the early hours of the morning to replicate the winter darkness,” she added. “It put me in the festive mood early and it just continued.”

When asked what she thinks Martha would buy Humphrey Goodman (played by Kris) for Christmas, she replied: “She’s got to keep his sock collection up, but I think she might also get him a fun experience, such as a twilight canoe down some exotic river.”

The episode is set to bring more mystery to the Shipton Abbott locals.

As the countdown to Christmas begins, residents of Shipton Abbott are left stunned as a string of bizarre burglaries occur overnight.
