Big Brother confirms two housemates face punishment for breaking rules

Hallie and Olivia were writing names on each other's backs

It looks like two Big Brother housemates could be in big trouble after breaking the rules this week.

During Wednesday night’s episode of the rebooted show, Hallie and Olivia were seen communicating secretly as each of the contestants picked two people to go up against one another in the second eviction. They were seen tracing secret messages on each other’s back to let one another know who they had voted for.

In the clip, Hallie started to spell out letters on Olivia’s back. Guessing who she meant, Olivia said: “N? O?”

Hallie replied: “Okay, stop spelling now!” Which caused Olivia to add, “Yep, yep. Got you!” as Hallie traced two more letters onto her back.

Ultimately Zak and Henry were revealed to be facing the public votes after they received the most nominations. Hallie, Kerry, Chanelle, Henry and Jenkin all voted for Zak, while Henry was nominated by Dylan, Olivia, Noky and Jenkin.

In Big Brother: Late and Live, which directly follows the main show, host AJ Odudu stated to the crowd and viewers at home: “I can confirm that we’ve only had a blooming rule break!”

She continued: “Don’t worry, this didn’t affect the outcome of this week’s nominations. You’ll have to tune in tomorrow at 9pm to find out how Big Brother will deal with these two.”

AJ concluded her speech by saying that it was “punishment time” for the two housemates. As to what that punishment will be, it is not yet known.

A source also told MailOnline: “Big Brother sees it all and gathered Hallie, Olivia and all other Housemates around the sofa to reveal their rule break would not go unpunished.”

They added: “Shocked Housemates were quick to demand answers about what the pair had been trying to say in secret. Their punishment will be served tonight and revealed in tomorrow night’s show…”

There are a number of rules that housemates need to follow while in the famous house. And it appears that they are very similar to when the hit reality show last aired both on Channel 4 and Channel 5.

Every housemate had to nominate two people for eviction, with them having to give honest and frank reasons behind their nominations. But one of the biggest rules was that fellow housemates could not discuss their nominations or anything related to nominations with each other under any circumstance.

So, it looks like Hallie and Olivia weren’t sneaky enough with their supposed secret messages.

Big Brother continues weeknights on ITV2 from 9pm.
