Big Brother viewers were not too impressed minutes into the new series airing – and already have their complaints.
The iconic show made its epic return to ITV screens on Sunday evening (October 8). Fronted by AJ Odudu and Will Best, the programmed welcomed a brand new batch of housemates moving into the famous house.
However, just seconds into the programme airing, fans noticed a big change and they were not happy. Viewers called out how bosses have changed the voice of big brother.
Noticing it was someone different, one fan on X, formerly known as Twitter, fumed: “ITV screwing it already with that voiceover.” A second added: “They’ve got rid of the original voiceover guy too!”
A third chimed in and penned: “New Big Brother voice is so sh*t, might switch off now.” Another penned: “Sorry but they shoulda brought back the original voiceover man.”
Sixteen housemates soon arrived at the brand new Big Brother house one by one before a live studio audience as they prepare to compete for a £100,000 cash prize. Barman Jenkin was the first housemate to enter the Big Brother house.
Up next was Wolverhampton Farida followed by cheeky chap Tom. Youth worker Hallie entered the famous house and she is the youngest housemate, aged 18.
Mum Trish was the next one to strut her stuff into the house, followed by Yinrun. Jordan, a lawyer from Scunthorpe, was confirmed as the next housemate. While 28-year-old model Zak from Manchester followed after him.
Welsh dental therapist Chanelle, Coventry DJ Dylan and Banker Noky from Derby were the next housemates revealed.
AJ Odudu and Will Best have followed in the footsteps of Davina McCall , Brian Dowling and Emma Willis and are the first-ever duo to present the programme. Speaking about taking on the iconic role, AJ said: "The pressure is on, it's a big show, it's everyone's baby. We all grew up watching it but then there's a whole new audience that we want to bring along on the ride as well.
"And also it's had previous presenters who both Will and I both love, adore and respect, they're the nation's sweethearts, and we want to do everyone proud." Will added: "You know, I think doing any show is big, obviously there's going to be nerves attached, there's pressure attached. But I think one of the best things about doing this, is one, I'm just excited that Big Brother is coming back first of all."
"I've been a massive fan of the show over the years, so for the show to come back, for something you love to come back and then to actually get a chance to work on it, that immediately overrides anything else."
