Bridgerton Will Get Another Scandalous Season on Netflix

Minor spoilers for Bridgerton ahead.

Bridgerton made an explosive debut on Netflix, arriving in the middle of a quieter holiday season spent indoors and at home. With the masses in quarantine, Shonda Rhimes’s adaptation of Julia Quinn’s popular book series became an instant hit, stirring discussions on timelines and sparking devoted crushes (hello, Duke of Hastings). With a colorful setting in 1813 Regency London, steamy romances, glitzy wardrobes, and provocative scandals, how could viewers resist? For those of us who flew through our binges over the holiday break, we investigate what may come next for Bridgerton.

A new clip reveals our first look at Simone Ashley’s Kate Sharma.

Netflix has dropped its first clip from Bridgerton‘s highly-anticipated second season, which gives our first look at the romance between Anthony Bridgerton and new character Kate Sharma, played by Simone Ashley.

“Dear readers, this author is most pleased to bring you a first glimpse into the upcoming social season, and even more delighted to introduce you to Miss Kate Sharma,” reads a statement posted with the video.

In the clip, seen above, Kate Sharma and Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey) have a heated exchange outside of a party, where Kate roasts the Viscount on his archaic requirements for a future wife and his horse riding skills. Kate’s strong character and the underlying tension between the duo has us even more excited for Season 2, if that’s possible.

Season 2 has been confirmed.

Nearly a month after the show’s premiere, Netflix confirmed that it would renew Bridgerton for a second season. There are no details about the release date yet, but a teaser video ends with a shot of Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey), hinting that the next installment will focus on him.
