I’M A Celebrity returned on Sunday night with its lowest launch show ratings in over a decade – but viewers are convinced it has gained one very famous fan.

It comes after Britney Spears' latest post on Instagram after her sister Jamie Lynn made her debut in the ITV series.

The superstar shared a photo to her 43 million followers last night that potentially revealed she has been tuning in from across the pond.

It was of a blackboard and numbers and figures that showed a very complicated equation.

Britney, 41, dropped the post without a caption, and she turned the comments off so that her fans couldn't discuss it.

But over on X, formerly Twitter, some said that it was a reference to her sibling attempting to do maths in the jungle camp, during the Dingo Dollar Challenge, when the stars had to calculate all of their ages combined, in order to win treats.

One person racked up likes on the platform when they wrote: "As soon as I saw it I couldn't help but think of Jamie Lynn trying to work out 62 + 32 on @imacelebrity haha Britney sure knows how to shade!"

Just over 7.8million people tuned in to the first episode of I'm A Celeb, down by 2.5million from the peak of 10.3m last year.

It's not known how much American star Jamie, who refused to take part in I'm a Celebrity pre-show interviews, is being paid to be on the show but she is thought to have a net worth of over £4.8million.

Last night Jamie Lynn was involved in the "weirdest" I'm A Celeb moment in history, according to hosts Ant and Dec.

It also left fans cringing, after her camp mates serenaded here – while she was havingh a bath.

The impromptu singsong came after the sister of Britney Spears was seen crying after she revealed details about her teenage pregnancy.
