Loose Women’s Carol McGiffin was in disbelief when she appeared on the new instalment of Harry & Meghan. The explosive look into the lives of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex features a segment which includes a clip of Carol discussing the couple in a past episode of the ITV programme. When presented with the footage, the panellist quickly changed her stance on what she thought of the programme.

On Thursday’s edition of the long-running daytime show, Judi Love, Charlene White and Frankie Bridge joined their co-star to discuss the royal documentary.

Addressing the need to cover the six-part series, the outspoken panellist hit out at show bosses.

She said: “If you want to try and sell your documentary don’t try and make me watch it.

“Because, when I came here this morning, it was like ‘You will watch, you’re going to watch it because you’re going to talk about it’.”

The rebellious TV personality added: “I’m like ‘no I’m not!’

“I don’t mind talking about it, but I do think there’s something quite sinister in what they’re doing. They do appear to be trying to damage the Royal Family.”

She continued: “There is absolutely no real reason in them saying what they’re saying all the time, what is the point?”

Meanwhile, the studio audience and viewers at home were shown footage, with the audio muted of Carol’s cameo in Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s show.

Her fellow panellists tried to alert her of this, but there was confusion on stage when she remained oblivious to what was being shown.

Judi explained: “You know you’re in it right? You know you’re in the show?”

The comedian asked: “Would that convince you to watch it?”, but Carol believed Judi was referring to them co-starring on Loose Women.

“I’m happy to be here!”, cried Carol to laughter from the audience, before Judi reiterated: “Look, you’re in the actual documentary.”

The news dawned on a shocked Carol and she remarked: “What, I am in it? Oh my god, I might watch it now. Seriously, I’m in it?”

Netflix dropped the final three episodes on the streaming platform on Thursday morning to much-predicted fanfare from all corners of the media.

In the second batch of offerings, Harry and Meghan address the conflict between Prince William.

The first three instalments detailed the couple’s early meetings and initial romance, much to the delight of former England rugby player and TV personality Matt Dawson.

In an interview with Express.co.uk he explained his feelings towards the revealing series.

He said: “I just thought, do you know what, in their environment and where everyone is going to have a view of Harry because he is a bit of an adopted son to everybody after what happened in the past, I sort of thought, OK, go with it.

“We all want to know what they are like, so why don’t we just get to see what they are like. It is what it is, but at least it’s in their voice.

“There is no way that anyone could write that. We are obviously all interested in it and we are getting those little nuggets that we wouldn’t have known before, so it has definitely served its purpose.”
