To top it all off, Iain reminds Jacob that he was already being asked to perform the impossible before Robyn passed away.
He encourages Jacob to face his emotions and say goodbye to Robyn, even if it's in private.
But at the end of a difficult day, Jacob reflects on his future in the ED and, despite acknowledging that Robyn's death wasn't down to him, his doubts lead to him writing his resignation letter.
Meanwhile, Dylan Keogh (William Beck) is diving head first into his work and preparing for his interview.
Dylan is eager to show he can be reinstated as Clinical Lead and is intrigued when he learns his rival Max won't actually be going for the job after all – meaning he will have no competition.
Yet Dylan still has to face obstacles throughout his day, particularly as Jemima's abuse storyline continues next Saturday (March 25, 2023).
Dylan's day takes a troubling turn when DCI Supriya Vadra is brought into the ED after suffering a stab wound.
The copper is saved but Dylan is thrown another curveball when Roy Welch (Michael Begley), suspected of abusive behaviour, is brought into the hospital in a perilous condition.
Dylan ignores warnings from Max, who believes he's too emotionally involved to treat Roy, but he gets stuck when it's clear the odds aren't in their favour.
Max tries to stop Dylan and get him to call time, but the latter is adamant on saving Roy's life to bring him to justice.
