Cathy (Gabrielle Dowling) is another Emmerdale teen besides Marshall (Max Fletcher) who needs a big hug, and things turn to the extreme when she finds herself in serious peril.
It’s a rite of passage for any teen to indulge their rebellious streak and disobey their parents, and with Cathy also battling her dad for some semblance of support, it’s looking all the more appealing to her to defy his orders and do what she wants in order to feel normal.
Bob (Tony Audenshaw) is becoming overly absorbed in his work at the B&B, causing him to neglect the child that needs him the most.
His priorities are all off and Brenda (Lesley Dunlop) attempts to remind him that Cathy is more important than his new business, but her words fall on deaf ears. He can’t relate to what Cathy is going through and in response he buries his head in the sand.
Bob fails to notice Cathy’s increasingly concerning behaviour. While yes, it’s expected that a teenager will become unruly from time to time, is oblivious to Cathy’s cries for attention and desperate need of some fatherly guidance. This ignorance could cost him his daughter.
The kids are off to a gig but Cathy does not want to be chaperoned by Wendy (Susan Cookson), with whom she is struggling to get on, and comes up with a plan to ditch the adult supervision.
April (Amelia Flanagan) and the others are concerned by Cathy becoming more and more reckless, and they are right to be concerned.
As Cathy turns full on rebel, she accidentally puts her own life in danger.
With no adults aware of the situation, will she come to serious harm before oblivious Bob can sit up and take notice?
