Billy Miller dead at 43: Cause of death of General Hospital star is unknown as actor dies two days before his birthday | The Sun

SOAP opera actor Billy Miller has died two days before his 44th birthday.

Miller, 43, was a three-time Daytime Emmy-winning TV star, best known for his roles on The Young and the Restless and General Hospital.


The actor died on Friday, Michael Fairman TV first reported.

His death was confirmed by someone at The Belmont, a restaurant and bar in Los Angeles, California that Miller was the co-owner of, according to Michael Fairman.

His cause of death is currently unknown.

Miller, from Tulsa, Oklahoma, was born on September 17, 1979. He would have been 44 on Sunday.

He graduated with a communications degree at the University of Texas and then moved to Los Angeles.

Miller started out in the mailroom of Industry Entertainment, an entertainment agency, and then began auditioning for acting gigs.

He debuted as a daytime TV actor in 2007 when he played Richie Novak in All My Children.

The actor then rose to stardom while playing Billy Abbott on Young and the Restless from 2008 to 2014.

Miller won two Emmys for Outstanding Supporting Actor and one for Outstanding Lead Actor while on the show.

In 2014, Miller took on the role of Jason Morgan/Drew Cain on General Hospital. He stayed with the role for five years and then left the show in 2019.

Tributes from fans poured in on social media after news broke of Miller's death.

One person on X, formerly Twitter, said he was "one of the best actors" in the shows he worked on.

"I’m so sorry to learn about his death but I won’t forget his wonderful contributions to our favorite soaps!"

Another fan wrote: "My heart is completely broken.

"Such devastating news to wake up to […] his light was so, so bright."

A third said on X: "Wow! It's all I can say. An Amazing talent gone to soon."
