Rory Bremner says Chris Tarrant dislikes his portrayal in new play
Actor Rory Bremner revealed Chris Tarrant hates the portrayal of him in the recent Who Wants to Be a Millionaire play called Quiz.
On Tuesday’s instalment of BBC Breakfast, the actor spoke to Sally Nugent and Ben Thompson about his portrayal of Chris Tarrant.
During their discussion, he confessed the former presenter of the quiz show is less than impressed with how he’s being portrayed.
Rory said: “I’m spending weeks as Chris Tarrant, which he hates!”
Doing an impersonation of the 77-year-old, Rory commented: “It’s nothing like me, it absolutely [isn’t] – who are you being?! I have no idea who you’re being.”

As Sally could be heard laughing, the actor went on to explain what the play is about as the scandal unfolded 22 years ago.
The cheating scandal emerged after Charles Ingram went on to win the show, despite having a poor performance on the first night.
Managing to answer the questions correctly on his final night, Charles went on to get the million-pound cash prize, although bosses had their suspensions with his change in performance.
Going back over the tapes, coughs could be heard when Chris was reading out the possible answers, which coincided with the correct ones.

In the end, Charles was taken to court and after a four-week trial, was convicted of deception and given a 20-month suspended prison sentence.
During the interview, Sally added: “I’m curious, you say that Chris Tarrant doesn’t like the voice very much? Tell me what is it?”
Continuing his impression, Rory added: “I just play around and go, ‘tee hee, tee hee,’ and he says, ‘I have never said tee hee! You’re taking the bread out of my children’s mouths.’
“I get texts from him and he’s great, I’m hoping he’s going to come to see the play.”
Joining Rory is Emmerdale’s Charley Webb, who is making her stage debut as Charles’ wife Diana and Mark Benton as Judge Rivlin.
A synopsis reads: “Now, uncovering new evidence, it’s time to ask you, the audience, to put fingers on keypads and answer the ultimate 50/50: guilty or not guilty?”
The play is available to watch until the end of November with the final show in Bath.
BBC Breakfast continues weekdays on BBC from 6am
