Claudia Winkleman was given a taste of what it’s like to dance with with one of the professionals during the Strictly Come Dancing launch. 2022 newcomer Carlos Gu slowly rubbed her arms as he demonstrated how a Rumba should be done.
Viewers of Strictly Come Dancing are used to the presenters Claudia and Tess Daly briefly swaying arms at the end of the show saying: ‘Keep dancing!’
But, Claudia went one step further after she joined in on an impromptu version of the Rumba.
The co-host of the BBC showpiece asked Carlos his favourite dance and when he said it was the Rumba, remarked: “Why the Rumba? That’s just like standing.”
Carlos proceeded to look her in the eye as he delivered a slow rub to her arms, before the host jokingly shouted: “I’m pregnant” to a stunned studio audience.
During the hilarious segment, Claudia added: “I’ve got it wrong about the Rumba, it’s obviously not just standing!”
When pressed by the host, Carlos announced: “My favourite dance is Rumba and Paso.”
As part of his sensual dance, he whispered: “When I touch you, look at me darling, do you feel that, then I let it go.”
The temperature in the studio was rising as his fellow new dancers laughed while Claudia eased the tension with her gag about giving birth.
Also sat on the sofa were newbies Vito Coppola, Lauren Oakley and Michelle Tsiakkas too.
They looked on as the celebrities were paired with their fellow professionals.
The bookies favourite Fleur East will be dancing alongside Vito and the star is looking forward to the shared experience.
Vito surprised Fleur in her hometown of Walthamstow in East London as part of the big reveal.
Helen Skelton is currently the joint favourite alongside Fleur East to take home the Glitterball trophy .
The Loose Women Kaye Adams is currently bottom of the leaderboard with leading bookmakers and you can get odds of up to 66/1 for her to win this year’s competition.
Punters have been putting the most money on Will Mellor in hope of the actor bringing home the coveted prize.
Will was also judge Craig Revel Horwood’s hot favourite before the professional partners had even been announced.
The hopeful pairs will dance for the first time on Saturday night to show of their skills so far.
BBC bosses decided to push back the launch of the glitzy primetime show to make way for the coverage of the death of the Queen.
This series also sees the return of the dancers having the chance to jive in the famous Blackpool Tower Ballroom.
For the last two years, contestants have unfortunately been unable to wow audiences there due to the pandemic, but not in 2022.
Strictly Come Dancing airs every Saturday on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
