Senseis Daniel La Russo (played by Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) have returned to Netflix for their final bout against dangerous karate master Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) in the fifth season of Cobra Kai. While the martial arts teachers duke it out to save the Valley, Daniel’s son Anthony (Griffin Santopietro) had an unpleasant run-in of his own.

Cobra Kai newcomer Dallas Dupree Young has remembered filming one of the most gruesome moments in the action drama so far.

In the latest season, Anthony is still being bullied by Silver’s squad, including wayward student Kenny Payne (Dallas).

Kenny was first introduced in the fourth season as the younger brother of juvenile detainee Shawn (Okea Eme-Akwari).

As a new student to West Valley Middle School, Kenny is originally bullied by Anthony and his friends before Shawn encourages him to go to Robby Keene (Tanner Buchanan) for help.

Anthony has now found himself being tormented by Kenny and his Cobra Kai friends, and even gets his head shoved into a dirty toilet in the latest season.

“It’s so funny about it, because the filming of it was very exciting and it was so much fun to work with some of the Cobra Kais and then also Griffin Santopietro,” Dallas recalled.

Hopefully, Griffin’s experience behind the scenes wasn’t as unpleasant as Anthony’s torture in the finished series.

Dallas has also highlighted the scene as a pivotal moment for Cobra Kai’s perceptions of his character up to this point.

He continued: “We had so much fun working on set and we had so many jokes and laughter just involving the whole toilet scene, because it is very brutal.

“But when you see it on camera, you see how disgusting it is and how bad Kenny was to do this to him. That’s where you know he takes it way too far.”

Kenny began life as one of Cobra Kai’s most sympathetic characters after being cyberbullied by Anthony’s friends in season four.

However, Dallas suggests Kenny has started to take his revenge too far now he’s fully ingrained himself within Silver’s posse.

“I always say this, you’re gonna love Kenny, you’re gonna maybe be on his side in season five,” he explained to Digital Spy.

“And then once that toilet scene happens, you might not be on Kenny’s side for a little bit.”

“When I read the script, I realised that he was gone at that point,” he said of Kenny’s current mindset.

Fans will have to keep tuning in to see if Kenny can redeem himself and make amends with Anthony.

It’s no surprise the fifth season of Cobra Kai featured some of the show’s most brutal moments after main cast member Gianni DeCenzo’s recent warning.

Gianni, who portrays Demitri, said: “If you get squeamish, you might need, like, a barf bag.

“I don’t know if you’re ready. I think this season gets intense – it’s dialled up to 11.”

The fifth outing of the hit Netflix series certainly delivered on Gianni’s promise, and fans can’t wait to see the outcome of Daniel and Johnny’s grudge match against John Kreese (Martin Kove) after his escape from jail.

Cobra Kai seasons 1-5 are available to stream on Netflix.
