Come Dine With Me viewers livid as guests forced to eat with their fingers | The Sun

COME Dine With Me viewers have been left livid after guests were forced to eat with their fingers.

The third night of this week's round of dinners was hosted by entertainment manager and fitness fanatic, James.

The dinners were all hosted at the same property for social distancing purposes as it was filmed during the coronavirus pandemic.

As well as being spaced out around the dinner table, James also decided to forgo the cutlery and serve most of his three courses without any utensils for his guests.

His menu consisted of Nashville hot chicken wings with blue cheese sauce, big bad cheesy burgers with lovely chips and chocolatey orange sundae for dessert.

The only person who did get cutlery was Kam, who was served a vegan chilli for her starter instead of the hot wings.

Fellow guest Nick particularly seemed to struggle with the lack of knife and fork.

Asked if he had ever eaten with his fingers before, he replied: "Maybe an apple or a sandwich."

It left Come Dine With Me viewers watching at home with plenty to discuss on Twitter.

One wrote: "Oh give them some cutlery- making people feel less than comfortable does not give them some sort of "authentic" experience."

Another added: "I don’t much like eating with my fingers. I’d have to have my baby wipes on the table."

A fellow viewer agreed, writing: "Same! Just the thought of eating with unwashed hands and then the sticky mess. Ugh, no way."

Meanwhile a fourth tweeted: "#comedinewithme I hate eating with my fingers too."

In the end, James managed to score 26, which placed him second on the weekly leaderboard with two contestants still to cook.

Come Dine With Me airs weekdays at 5.30pm on Channel 4.
