This Morning live from Coronation Street
Billy Mayhew (played by Daniel Brocklebank) and Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) meet up with the registrar to go over their wedding plans in upcoming Coronation Street scenes.
When Paul requests Oh Happy Days for their exit music, the registrar explains they’re not allowed religious music at a civil ceremony.
Paul’s left gutted by the rules as the song would mean a lot to him and Billy.
The Coronation Street couple has no other option but to get married in a civil ceremony as the Church of England still forbids same-sex weddings inside a church.
Perhaps the lovers will elope in a bid to have their dream ceremony in a church setting.
Will they decide to elope? Could any of their loved ones join them abroad for the special occasion?

Billy and Paul are trying to embrace every minute they have left following the latter’s motor neurone disease diagnosis.
Billy actor Daniel told The Metro: “It’s the first-ever gay wedding that Corrie has had, I think they’ve had three failed lesbian weddings, and it’s going to be beautiful, that’s what I’ll tell you!”
The soap star teased: “As with Corrie, there’s always a good balance of comedy and drama, so you’re definitely going to see a bit of both!”
Will Paul rapidly deteriorate after they exchange their vows?

In an episode yet to air, Billy conducts Shelly’s funeral but when Paul stands to say a few words, her brother objects.
Paul erupts at Kieran for not supporting his sister while she was dying and the men start fighting.
In the heated moment, Paul accidentally smacks Billy in the face.
Luckily, Billy is understanding of the situation as Paul has a complete loss of mobility control due to his illness.
Will Shelly’s brother apologise to the Weatherfield resident?
