Coronation Street romance for Ryan Connor after he moves on from Daisy affair

Coronation Street: Daisy and Ryan have heart-to-heart in hospital

Coronation Street’s Ryan Connor (played by Ryan Prescott) finally gets some good news next week after an extremely difficult year that saw him scarred for life as he protected Daisy Midgely (Charlotte Jordan) from an acid attack.

Spoilers released by ITV for next week’s episodes show that Crystal (Erin Austen) calls at the bistro while he’s working and invites him to join her at a new bar in town later.

A delighted Ryan agrees to take her up on her offer. Just when he thinks life can’t get any better, he then takes a call offering him a job.

He is so surprised that he has to quickly cover in front of Leanne (Jane Danson) not wanting her to know that he has been looking for other employment.

With his love life and his work life on the up will he finally be able to move on and forget about Daisy following their illicit trysts?

It appears that their dalliance might still have some mileage as Coronation Street boss Iain MacLeod has teased that Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) and Daisy will inevitably struggle when her affair with Ryan is exposed.

He explained: “I love this love triangle and I veer week to week from being team Daniel and Daisy to being team Ryan and Daisy, I think that is really unusual.

“It has been so organic from the start and I entirely understand Daisy’s feelings for Daniel and where they come from and the depth of those.

“But I also understand the depth of feelings for Ryan and going through this terrible ordeal and I honestly don’t know who I am rooting for, I have divided loyalties.

“But suffice to say it ends up in a right pickle and Daisy’s feelings for Ryan can’t go undiscovered by Daniel forever.

“So he does indeed cotton on to what it going on between these two and their feelings for each other and the betrayals they have committed behind his back.

“There are a lot of tense sequences where Daniel starts to put all the pieces together, but in the end, it all comes crashing down, and some big dilemmas for Daisy.”

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
