Coronation Street couple Daisy Midgeley (played by Charlotte Jordan) and Daniel Osbourne (Rob Mallard) have had a tough time of late, especially after the barmaid found a lump on her breast. In scenes that aired last week, Daisy told Rob she needed some space and so she decided to stay at the pub with her mum, Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews).

Despite Jenny giving Daniel her blessing for Daniel to propose to Daisy, things took an unexpected turn when the engagement ring got stolen – along with the rest of the Christmas presents under the tree.

Daniel later told the landlady that he wasn’t sure what to do, but will Jenny end up trying to help the teacher?

In official spoilers released by ITV, Jenny confides in Ken (William Roache) about Daniel’s plan to propose, and how the ring got stolen.

Ken is left thinking about the mishap, but could he and Jenny try and hatch a plan together to help Daniel propose?

In doing so, Jenny could tear the couple apart completely if things go completely wrong.

Jenny has always had a turbulent relationship with her daughter, so this could push the barmaid over the edge.

Meanwhile, to make matters worse, Daisy and Daniel end up falling out when the teacher sees a post on the barmaid’s socials which he doesn’t approve of.

Amy Barlow (Elle Jade Mulvaney) later shows Daniel one of Daisy’s posts raising breast cancer awareness and points out that not all social media is the work of the devil.

Will the couple be able to make amends? or will they end up splitting up for good?

In scenes which aired last week, a tearful Daisy hinted her relationship with Daniel could be over.

As they sat in the lounge of the pub, Daniel argued: “You made me sound so selfish.”

“Have you thought once about how I might be feeling?” Daisy raged as Daniel hit back: “I have thought of nothing else.”

As the barmaid discussed her doctor’s appointment, she reflected on what might happen if she had cancer.

“I am 26 years old and I’ve potentially got a sword hanging over my head,” she fumed.

“Even if things go fairly well, I might need surgery or chemo.

“I could lose a breast and all my hair but none of this has passed through your brain because it’s all about you.”

She added: “It is always about you.”

“Please, let’s not fight,” the teacher pleaded. “It is bad enough. Come home.”

“Jenny said I can stay here tonight,” Daisy replied as Daniel insisted he would make it up to her.

Daisy concluded: “I am tired…of this. Us…is there an us, Daniel? No, there is just you so why don’t you go home.”

Coronation Street airs Monday, Wednesday and Thursday at 8pm on ITV.
