Coronation Street spoilers: Hope admits realisation about killer dad | The Sun

FIZ Stape dreaded the release of a book about her life with late husband John Stape.

However, her daughter Hope thrives off the attention she's getting and makes a shocking confession in Coronation Street.

The eleven-year-old, portrayed by Isabella Flanagan, is known for her surprisingly volatile behaviour which has landed her into plenty of trouble throughout the years.

But in upcoming scenes of the ITV soap, Hope is happy to be the centre of attention following the release of a book about her serial killer father John.

Coming up, in the school corridor, she announces that she'll be doing a reading and signing autographs for £1 per head.

Later on, Hope is in the Roy's Rolls café with Sam Blakeman (played by Jude Riordan) and shows him a copy of the John Stape book.

She then admits to him that the book has made her realise how much she has in common with her villainous father.

Many viewers may not be surprised by her revelation, knowing Hope's antics can often cause irreparable chaos.

But could she be another serial killer in the making?

While the young girl is turning a hectic situation to her advantage, her mother Fiz (soap legend Jennie McAlpine) has found it difficult to cope with.

In recent scenes, she was horrified to find excerpts of the book in the Weatherfield Gazette.

She tries to legally fight off the journalist that groomed young Hope into giving information online.

The book is not only harrowing for Fiz, it's also a source of trouble for her partner Tyrone Dobbs.

The mechanic played by Alan Halsall first punched Nick Tilsley who forbade his son Sam from being friends with Hope.

But the journalist who duped Hope is also one of his targets.

Many in the cobbles remember him as a blood-thirsty criminal but John's crime only began when he became desperate to teach again, despite his criminal record.

When his colleague Colin Fishwick died after he had stolen his identity, John concealed his body and murdered Charlotte Hoyle who knew all about his actions.

He then accidentally smothered Colin's mother Joy to death when telling her the truth.

John was fatally injured in a car crash as he tried to kidnap Rosie Webster but managed to confess everything and prove Fiz's innocence before dying of a heart attack.
