TEN years after her last appearance in the cobbles, Wendy Crozier is back under a new name to help Abi Webster.

But she won't be able to escape a reunion with her former lover Ken Barlow next week in Coronation Street.

The mechanic played by Sally Carman almost lost all hope to be reunited with her baby Alfie but, thankfully for her, social worker Wendy is here to help her.

Actress Roberta Kerr reprised her role as Wendy Crozier in recent weeks only, this time, she's known as Wendy Papadopoulos.

ITV viewers and diehard Corrie fans may remember Wendy was married to a man named Christos Papadopoulos, years after her affair with Ken Barlow (portrayed by William Roache).

However, Abi has no idea her social worker has a past with the Weatherfield stalwart.

Coming up, Wendy fills Abi in on her history with Ken – and the latter urges her to go and make up with him.

Abi takes it upon herself to handle Ken's stepdaughter Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) who isn't Wendy's biggest fan.

She steers the florist away to the café as Wendy calls at No.1, but how will Ken react when he sees his former flame?

While this remains to be seen, Tracy is just round the corner when she spots Wendy leaving No.1.

Incensed, she marches over and an explosive confrontation could ensue.

What trouble has Abi caused?

As many fans may remember, both characters were first involved with one another in 1989.

Their love affair led to Ken's first divorce with then-wife Deirdre Barlow which explains Tracy's hostility towards Wendy.

Wendy tied the knot with her late husband Christos in 1991 and the couple moved away to Norfolk, where they remained for fifteen years.

Christos sadly developed lung cancer and passed away, prompting Wendy to move back to the Manchester area.

Ken and Wendy had the chance to rekindle their affair when she last visited the cobbles in 2012 but the stalwart rejected her.

However, Wendy took things too far when she lied to a suspicious Deirdre and told her they had spent the night together.

Distraught upon finding this out, Ken cut all ties with Wendy, telling her he never wanted to see her again.
