ACTRESS Julia Goulding has confirmed that she is back on the Coronation Street cobbles full-time after taking a temporary break at the end of last year.
Julia went on maternity leave as she welcomed her second child towards the end of last year but the star has confirmed that it is not a permanent exit for her character Shona Platt.
The character appeared on screen again last week as Julia opted for a shorter maternity leave than most as a result of her and her husband, Ben Silver, sharing maternity and paternity leave.
Speaking of her return to the cobbles, Julia said: "It's wonderful, my husband is on paternity leave as we're doing shared parental leave, so I get to come to work and have an actual hot cup of tea without having a child hanging off me."
The actress added in an interview with WhatToWatch that being able to kick her feet up in the green room in between takes is where she gets her proper rest from motherly duties.
Julia explained: "It's really nice to be able to sit in the green room and have a brew and a conversation. Not that I don't absolutely love being at home, because I do… But it's nice to have that brew."

She returned amid a potential marriage storm last week which saw her relationship with husband David under threat.
Having returned from Lily's six-week football training camp in London, Shona was mortified to discover that a drunken David had leaned in for a kiss with family friend Maria.
Shona insisted that the marriage was over, however after spending time with David and Lily as they went to visit Max behind bars, she quickly realised that she wanted to stick by her family.
Speaking of the marital bumps that the couple are set to face over the next few weeks, the star added: "It's definitely a journey about parenthood, and how David and Shona deal with it, and all the trials and tribulations.
