ELLIE Leach looked worlds away from her Coronation Street character as she shared glam snaps with her mum.

The 21-year-old posted the photos to celebrate mum Karen's 50th birthday and fans couldn't get over how young she looked.

In the mix of throwback and current pictures, actress Ellie – who plays Faye Windass in Coronation Street – the mother and daughter duo beamed as they posed for the camera.

Alongside her Instagram upload Ellie wrote: "Happy 50th Birthday to the best mum that anyone could ever ever ask for ❤️.

"I am so lucky that you are my mum!!!! You have the biggest heart and the biggest smile and you light up every room you enter, you love and care for people so much all of your friends and family are blessed to have you in their lives 💖.

"Thankyou for being not only my mum but my best friend, therapist and fellow foodie, I can’t wait to celebrate with you in the sun and to continue your birthday celebrations all year round!!!!!!!! I love you always and forever my mum 👩‍👧❤️."

Last year Ellie shared snaps of her rarely-seen sister Daisy to mark her 14th birthday.

Viewers may not know that Ellie’s cousin is Brooke Vincent, known for her role as Sophie Webster in Corrie.

Ellie, who is eight years younger, joined the soap in 2009, playing Faye Windass – making them stepsisters on screen.

But in real life, the girls are cousins – and Ellie is godmother to Brooke's son Mexx.
